Animal Proteins Disadvantages

SPONSORED

Animal proteins are said to be one of the most essential foods that you can add to your diet, as they are high in protein, vitamins, calcium and healthy fats that you cannot obtain from a plant-based diet. But new studies show that you can obtain all nutrients from a plant-based diet, and that animal proteins are actually bad for you. Here are some of the dangers associated with animal proteins.

animal protein disadvantages

High Cholesterol

Animal proteins, including meat, dairy and eggs all contain high amounts of saturated fats and cholesterol which causes your cholesterol levels to rise. Cholesterol can contribute to weight gain, high blood pressure, atherosclerosis (which is when the arteries become hardened from the cholesterol plaque), heart disease and stroke.

Requires More Energy to Digest

Meat and other animal proteins require much more energy to digest than raw fruits and vegetables. This is due to the fact that your body is unable to digest whole proteins. It has to break them down into amino acids in order for the body to be able to use them. This is why you feel so tired after a huge steak, as all your body's energy is directed at breaking down proteins so that it can obtain the energy from it.

Becomes Toxic

Your body was not designed to digest meat, dairy or eggs. Therefore these proteins remain in your body for an extended period of time. Plant based foods can leave your body in under 24 hours, but animal proteins can take up to 4 days.

This causes the proteins to become toxic in your blood stream, which flows through your body and to your organs, muscle tissues and brain. In order for these toxins to leave the body they have to be neutralized with antioxidants. But if you do not have enough antioxidants, then your body simply stores these toxins away in fat cells to prevent them from harming your organs.

On top of that, they have more proteins than what the body actually needs, and these also become toxic in the body if not eliminated in a timely manner.

Acidifying

Your blood should have a healthy balance between acids and alkaline, with a normal pH level between 7.35 and 7.45. But animal proteins are very acidifying to your body which can cause your acid levels to rise. An acidic environment basically is a breeding ground for all kinds of diseases such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes and more.

So the bottom line is that if you want to avoid disease you should also avoid these proteins. Once your system is cleaned out, your body will be able to absorb more nutrients from the plants, and thus they will begin to make you feel full.
